  just wondering..my step-grandfather, (he eventually persuaded my widowed jw grand-mother to marry him and he was already well into his 80's but had lusted after her for some time, she being an incredibly bonny woman)..i digress..he eventually converted to the jw religion, but because of health issues was baptised at home in the bath..

  From what I've seen NOT using the boom pole is the rare thing. Don't think it has anything to do with or. In my hall they're very strict and say that everyone commenting should not touch the mic, something about fear of damaging the equipment.

  Did your congregation ever throw special parties exclusively for Pioneers?

  i'm trying to remember if these parties were a direct instruction from hq or if this was something on a local level.. i remember i attended at least 2 of these parties and we also would bring them gifts.

  i saw them no different than a bday party (elevating someone to idolatry level).. if anyone else remembers these parties please let me know.

  if there's a letter out there somewhere from hq that would be even better.

  Yes, our congregation had a party just for pioneers, with gifts etc. Pretty sure it only happened once though.

  i am writing you to express my love for you and the pride that i feel for the man you have become.

  you need to know that i accept you and love you dearly just for who you are and i am immensely proud of the wise choices you made with regard to your education and your career.. as i write you this heartfelt letter, i pray that you will read it entirely and give it your careful consideration.

  don adams took over for milton henschel in 2000 when the governing body cut all corporate ties, and when he died robert ciranko took over for him in 2014.. the next major corporation in line is the one word "watchtower" society of new york.

  the jw's first black corporate president, leon weaver jr., was president of this one up until recently.

  The next major corporation in line is the one word "Watchtower" society of New York. The JW's first black corporate president, Leon Weaver Jr., was president of this one up until recently. Not sure if he died or just stepped down (maybe something to do with their recent 80-years-old rule). He's now been replaced with Harold L. Corkern, a frequent JW Broadcasting speaker and former president of minor corporation "Kingdom Support Services".
